Happy Holidays!

I can’t think of this time of year without recalling the classic Jimmy Stewart movie “It’s a Wonderful Life.”  The theme of belonging and the impact one life can have on a community ring so true.

In my corner of the world, West Annapolis, I believe we are cultivating that same spirit. The West Annapolis Business Association recently kicked off the holiday season last weekend with an event we called “It’s a Wonderful Life in West Annapolis,” featuring a visit from Santa, free carriage rides and, of course, a viewing of the movie “It’s a Wonderful Life.”

At my studio that day, we handed out cookies to future Pilates students (see the photo of Katie and one little cutie who stopped by) and offered Pilates demonstrations throughout the day. It was a time for us, and all the small, locally owned businesses in West Annapolis, to open the doors and thank the community for the great support we enjoy throughout the year.

I was also fortunate enough to represent West Annapolis businesses in a recent article in the Capital Gazette about the vibrancy and growth of this economic corridor. 

One of my favorite quotes is from Joseph Pilates: “Time and progress are synonymous terms- nothing can stop either.” I truly believe this and look forward to our progress as part of this thriving business community in the coming year.
